Your first class, guided step by step

An instructor stays beside you from the first breath to the last. No movement experience is needed. The hour starts slowly and keeps to your pace.

Your first class

What happens in your first class

An instructor walks you through each part, from the door to the closing rest. You never have to guess what comes next or copy what other people are doing.

  1. 01

    Arrival and a short conversation

Come ten minutes early. The instructor asks about old injuries, how much you move during a normal week, and what you would like to feel different after the hour.

  2. 02

Your mat is set up for you

A mat, a block and a strap wait at your place. The instructor shows you how to sit, where to put your feet, and how to get up and down without strain.

  3. 03

    A ten-minute introduction

Before the group moves, you get ten minutes on the basics: breathing, hinging from the hips, and the two positions that repeat most often in a beginner class.

  4. 04

    The class itself

Forty-five minutes at a beginner pace, with the instructor naming each position before it happens and offering a simpler version at any point you need one.

The four steps

Your first class, guided step by step

Every class at the studio belongs to one of four steps. You move on when your instructor sees that the basics are steady, not on a fixed date.

  1. New to movement

Breathing, standing alignment and simple floor work. An instructor stands beside you and names what you are feeling as it happens.

  2. Finding your base

Slow, supported transitions between seated, kneeling and standing positions, so the shapes stop feeling new and start feeling repeatable.

  3. Steady practice

Longer sequences with fewer cues. You keep the breath steady and start noticing where you hold tension before the instructor points it out.

  4. Confident flow

Full classes where you follow the rhythm of the room, choose your own level inside each shape, and finish an hour away from your desk.
